(DNR) staff director for land reclamation recommended approval of a 100-year permit
for Magruder Limestone to operate a quarry on
July Woodriver neighbors petitioned DNR for a hearing to challenge the permit on the issues of health, safety and livelihood.
September Land Reclamation Commission (LRC) granted a formal hearing.
October Hired attorney Brian McGovern, who
has experience in a previous hearing.
November Pre-hearing conference. Presentation to Osage school board.
Feb., 2008 Depositions of Woodriver petitioners. Received the support of our area representatives and the Director of Tourism.
March 6 Public meeting at Central Bank to inform concerned citizens of quarry fight..

May 6 Met with Reps. Rodney Schad, Wayne Cooper, and Tom Self, Sen. Chuck Purgason and Acting Dir. of Tourism Bob Smith. All have or will contact LRC.
May 23-Jun 6 Third session of formal hearing for expert testimony and members of the Sunrise Beach Quarry Accountability Committee.
June Hearing officer will send his report and recommendation to LRC.
